Whitney Lee, M.A. LMFT
Whitney earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas and her master’s degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Whitney specializes in anxiety, depression, ADHD, life stage transitions, substance use issues, mood and psychotic disorders, and general feelings of frustrations with life. She has experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families in private practice, hospital, community health, and criminal justice settings.
Whitney believes a non-judgmental, caring, and collaborative approach that highlights clients’ already existing strengths is essential to any successful therapeutic relationship. She uses a variety of interventions to help clients identify solutions and change negative, maladaptive thoughts and behaviors that may prevent clients from living the life they desire. She incorporates the use of candor, mindfulness, and humor to motivate change in clients and feels therapy does not have to be long-term to be effective. She is passionate about reducing the shame and stigma that often surrounds mental health and believes therapy should be approachable for anyone struggling with life’s circumstances.
