Hi! My name is Tillarie. I graduated High school in North Dakota, but I am a Texan by birth and I made my way back quickly thereafter. I obtained my Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology in 2012, at West Texas A&M University. Just a few months later I started my career in the mental health field working with kids and their families. I continued this while growing my own little family. I was excited and eager to further my education and career. I went back to WTAMU and obtained my Masters Degree in Counseling in 2020 amongst the pandemic.
In total, I have worked 12 years with a diverse group of people, including foster and adoptive children and parents, blended families, children ages 4-17, adults, and more! My experience has been in a variety of settings as well, including inpatient treatment, group, individual and family therapy.
I love to get creative in cultivating a therapeutic relationship while providing a safe and
nonjudgemental space for my clients. I believe that learning new stories, building trust, and a sprinkle of humor help us grow as people. I am passionate about the entire journey; the challenges, the changes made, the self-esteem building, and the sense of pride that naturally occurs when a client accomplishes a goal or makes a step toward their goal. I was once told that life is like a messy filing cabinet, papers thrown inside, some buried, while others are disorganized and torn. I like to think of therapy as cleaning, organizing, processing and refiling the papers inside. So that life doesn’t feel so messy. I know it can be and it would be my honor to assist you on your journey to “organizing” and self-healing!
