Chris Hinds received an undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University and a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Since then, he has become a Licensed Professional Counselor working with mental health struggles including depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, trauma, and stress. He has also worked in facilities specializing in people with chronic illness including pain and traumatic brain injury.
He has a passion for helping adolescents and young adults adjust to difficult transitional periods in their lives and supporting them through the difficult issues that can arise in developing their identity and discovering what they want out of their life. Growing up is already hard enough without all of today’s educational, technological, and social stress. Adults aren’t the only ones who experience anxiety and depression. Also, knowing what to do once you are out of school or relatively new out in the “real world” can be a time of crisis. This can include self-esteem issues, conflicts, career difficulties, communication issues, and difficulty with interpersonal relationships. He has experience helping people of all ages through depression, anxiety, and stress. Having received counseling services in the past himself, he knows how difficult it can be to take the steps necessary to ask for help. He believes building a good relationship between therapist and client, along with concrete strategies, can help set people back on the road to recovery.
