Jessica Martin; M.S., LPC
I completed my bachelor’s in Psychology at Sam Houston State University and my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have worked with teenagers and families who have navigated partial or inpatient hospitalization, children in the child welfare system, and children and families following an outcry of abuse. I am also experienced with anyone having trouble navigating anxiety, daily life stressors, mood disorders, and trauma. I offer individual counseling to clients ages 10+.
I have training in trauma-focused behavioral therapy to address trauma with children and teenagers. I use interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) , solution-focused therapy, and cognitive processing therapy (CPT). I focus a lot on the therapeutic relationship and meet clients wherever they are when they come into session. My office is a safe space for anyone to come exactly as they are.
My specialties include suicidal ideation/self-harm, bipolar, PTSD, and sexual abuse. Life can be really challenging sometimes, especially after a trauma, and it’s okay to have someone to work alongside with you through these challenges. Healing is difficult, but I would love to help you on your journey.
