Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has a graduate degree in Social Work from Texas A&M-Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology from McMurry University. Michelle’s career has allowed her to work in many settings with people from many walks of life, including community mental health, substance use and addiction counseling, a children’s hospital, and private practice. Michelle focuses her work with adults who are struggling with acute and childhood/developmental trauma, anxiety, and life transitions.
Michelle has a trauma-informed approach and is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and takes an eclectic approach for each individual client’s needs. Through her EMDR training Michelle’s treatment focuses on a three-prong approach: what has happened to you, what current symptoms are you experiencing as a result, and what you want your future to look like after healing. Michelle believes in having a non-judgmental and safe therapeutic space for motivated clients to become their greater selves.
