Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has a graduate degree in Social Work from Texas A&M-Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology from McMurry University. Michelle’s career has allowed her to work in many settings with people from many walks of life, including community mental health, substance use and addiction counseling, a children’s hospital, and private practice. Michelle focuses her work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and depression.
Michelle has a trauma-informed approach and is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and takes an eclectic approach for each individual client’s needs. Through her EMDR training Michelle’s treatment focuses on a three-prong approach: what has happened to you, what is currently happening as a result, and what do you want your future to look like after healing. Michelle’s work with adolescents and young adults focuses on the transition of discovering self and managing the added responsibilities that come with “adulting”. Through her work in private practice and her own personal experiences, Michelle has developed a passion for addressing symptoms of anxiety that come with perfectionism, shame, and being a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). Michelle believes in having a non-judgmental and safe therapeutic space for motivated clients to become their greater selves.Schedule Online Now
