Megan Schaefer, M.S., LPC
Megan Schaefer is a Texas State Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with Taylor Counseling Group. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Graduate Certificate in Integrated Behavioral Healthcare from the University of Texas at San Antonio in August 2022. Megan utilizes a person-centered, collaborative approach. She believes that everyone is the expert in their own life and that we all need to feel seen, heard, and understood. Megan has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
Previously, Megan worked with the WE CARE Clinic (UT Health San Antonio) starting in December 2022 as a part of the original cohort. Megan has received training in EMDRIA approved EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy). Prior to becoming an LPC, Megan was a Texas Board Certified Mental Health Peer Specialist and has experience working in community mental health and in non-profit organizations.
