Sarah Police is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University. She earned a dual Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Psychology from University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Sarah’s past work experience includes working with addiction and dual diagnosis over the past 8 years in inpatient and outpatient facilities. She has worked with children, adolescents, families, adults, and couples. She has worked with clients on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, coping with hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, adjustment to life changes, relationship issues, conflict resolution, LGBTQ+, and trauma. She believes through changes in thought creates change in behavior. Sarah also focuses on finding solutions and creating hope in situations that seem and feel hopeless.
Sarah’s approach to counseling involves Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical behavioral therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She believes in the importance of developing a therapeutic relationship with clients to help empower them to create solutions and gain positive perspectives so they can identify their achievable goals.
