Stacey Gary, M.A., LPC
Life can be complicated. We can find ourselves carrying experiences, emotions, or circumstances that are difficult to make sense of on our own. Sometimes we know exactly what is hurting; other times, we simply know that something needs to change. Wherever you are, we can start there.
I approach therapy with empathy, authenticity, curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand you and what has brought you here. I believe our experiences and relationships shape us in meaningful ways. They influence how we see ourselves, how we connect with others, how we respond to the world around us, and sometimes even who we become.
Therapy can be a place where you are free to simply be yourself. There may be things you want to talk through, things you’re still trying to understand, or things you aren’t ready to put into words. I will meet you where you are while also helping you recognize patterns or areas of your life where you may feel stuck. Together, we can explore new perspectives, develop practical strategies and coping skills, and work toward changes that help you build a healthier and more fulfilling life.
I am especially passionate about helping people work through difficult, distressing, or traumatic life experiences and have completed training in EMDR to support this work. I also have a special connection to the military community. As a retired Air Force veteran with 22 years of service, I understand military culture and many of the unique experiences and challenges that can come with military life. The path that has brought me here has deepened my compassion, broadened my perspective, and continues to shape the counselor I am today.
At the heart of why I do this work is a genuine care for people and a desire to understand the lives they have lived. I believe every person brings a story shaped by relationships, challenges, losses, strengths, and moments that have mattered along the way. Both what I have learned and who I have become shape the way I approach this work, but our time together is about you—where you are, what you need, and what you hope for moving forward. My role is to listen, seek to understand, and support you as we work together through the parts of life that are difficult to navigate alone.
