Feeling stressed in today’s world is pretty much unavoidable. Summer’s over and school is beginning. How can we escape the stress and anxiety? Remember – how stressed you get or how often this happens are two things that you can have great control over.
Without habits for dealing with situations that could be stressful, life can be a whole lot more troublesome than it needs to be. You may feel tired before the week has even begun. Some of us are overwhelmed on a daily basis. We can even begin to have physical symptoms such as stomach aches and headaches and even start to feel burned out.
So what can we do about it?
Try these 5 things to ease your stress:
- Try not to multitask. Take things one step at a time. You will feel better if you do one thing at a time. Focus on the task and complete it. Then start on the next.
- Write everything down. Your ideas, tasks, and stuff you just have to remember. Then you don’t have to worry about forgetting. And you will free up your mind for focusing on other things.
- It is also really helpful to find a good balance between work and rest from a weekly perspective. Stay away from work and stay offline – except for one email check – during the weekend.
- Make sure you take time to do what you love!
If you can, leave it for tomorrow. Some things have to be finished before you leave work. Others can wait. Tomorrow is another day!
