Iyesha is a native New Yorker and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lock Haven University and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. Iyesha has experience working with children and adults; through family, individual, and couples therapy. Iyesha has participated in various training and workshops in Narrative therapy, Brief Strategic family therapy, motivational interviewing, crisis response, Emotional Focused Individual Therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
Iyesha employs an integrative approach to therapy through the use of modalities such as narrative therapy, client-centered therapy, and strategic therapy. Iyesha enjoys reading and practicing within the Narrative therapy modality as she believes that Narrative therapy encourages clients to view and reauthor themselves outside of what society tells them to be.
Before transitioning to Texas, Iyesha’s work experience included working with a multitude of cultural backgrounds through settings such as the New York City public school system, child welfare system, outpatient clinic, and Samaritans suicide-crisis hotline.
